How do I edit, pause, cancel, or remove my Google Local Services Ads?
Google's Local Services Ads guidance puts direct-advertiser editing and budget changes under Profile & Budget, uses pausing to stop delivery, and routes business-phone changes and account-level cancellation to Local Services Ads support. Google Business Profile removal is a separate action.
What can I edit in Local Services Ads?
Direct Local Services Ads advertisers can edit business information and ad settings for lead types, scheduling, and budget, but the business phone is a support-assisted exception.
The menu paths below are for advertisers who manage Local Services Ads directly. Google says its editing, budget, scheduling, and lead-management guidance does not apply to partner affiliates.
Google lists these editable areas in the Local Services Ads account: business hours and ad scheduling, service area, job types and industries, photos, budget, business bio, insurance, message leads, and the linked Google Business Profile. The message-leads setting is currently available only in the United States and Canada, according to Google's Edit your ad or business information guidance.
| Information | What to know before changing it |
|---|---|
| Service area, job types, and industries | Changing job types or service areas changes the searches that can trigger the ad. |
| Linked Google Business Profile | Correct an incorrect address in the Business Profile first, then unlink and relink it. Google says synchronization can take 24–72 hours. |
| Business phone | For direct advertisers, ask Local Services Ads support to make the change. The number must be where calls are routed and must not be a tracking number. |
| Job types | Deselecting every job type does not stop leads for the overall category. Pause the ad to stop all leads. |
For the difference between this paid lead channel and unpaid Maps visibility, see the Google Local Services Ads overview. If someone else will make these changes, choosing who runs Google Local Services Ads explains the access and handoff questions to settle first.
How do I edit my Local Services Ads information?
On a desktop, sign in to the Local Services Ads lead inbox, open the top-left menu, choose Profile & Budget, select the information to change, enter the new value, and select Save.
Use this sequence:
- Sign in to the Local Services Ads lead inbox on desktop.
- Open the menu in the top left.
- Select Profile & Budget.
- Select the information to edit.
- Enter the new information and select Save.
Google says some edits require additional verification and must be completed by a support agent. Google also says an edit may take a few hours to go live. Changes to job types or service areas can change which searches trigger the ad, so check those settings before assuming that a drop in leads is a delivery problem. Google's Local Services Ads editing guidance gives the menu path and the timing.
How do I change my Local Services Ads budget?
For direct advertisers, change the average weekly budget from Profile & Budget by opening the Budget card, selecting the pencil icon, editing the amount, and selecting Save.
Google describes the average weekly budget as a target for the number of leads you want in a typical week. Actual weekly spend can be lower or higher because demand changes. The Google Ads budget guidance gives the monthly maximum as:
average weekly budget × 30.4 ÷ 7
After the monthly maximum is reached, the ad stops appearing for the rest of that month unless the budget is adjusted. That means a week that spends above the average does not by itself show that the account ignored its budget. It can be part of the budget model Google documents.
How do I change the phone number for Local Services Ads?
For direct advertisers, a Local Services Ads business-phone change requires Local Services Ads support because Google requires additional verification, and the replacement number must not be a tracking number.
The business phone is the number where calls from the ad are routed. It is different from the dynamic forwarding number that Google may display to a searcher. When you contact support, Google lists documents such as a Doing Business As document, business registration, or updated licence or insurance documentation as examples of evidence it may request.
For a live account with the Google Verified badge in North America, use the Local Services Ads support form. Google separates this route from Google Ads support and Business Profile support. The guide to creating Local Services Ads covers the screening and setup context behind the account.
Why is the phone shown on my Local Services Ad different from my business phone?
A direct-advertiser LSA can show a dynamic Google forwarding number even when the business account has a different phone for call routing. Google Ads call assets add a third phone-number rule.
| Phone concept | What it does | Can you choose it? |
|---|---|---|
| LSA business phone | Receives calls routed from the ad. Google says this number must not be a tracking number. | Direct advertisers change it through Local Services Ads support. |
| LSA forwarding or tracking number | Appears on the ad and forwards calls to the actual business phone. Google says it changes as people search and interact with the ad. | No. Google says advertisers cannot choose it. |
| Google Ads call-asset number | Supports call reporting in Google Ads. When location and call assets are both used, a location-associated number may be used instead. | It follows the Google Ads asset and location rules, not the LSA forwarding-number control. |
Google's Local Services Ads overview and its lead-management guidance describe the forwarding number. Google's call-asset guidance describes the location-versus-call-asset rule.
On September 25, 2026, Search Engine Roundtable reported that some Local Services Ads were showing a Google Business Profile number instead of the Google Ads number used for call tracking. The report later said the source contact considered the issue fixed. That dated observation does not establish how often the behavior occurs. Check the LSA business phone, the Google Business Profile phone, and Google Ads assets separately before changing any of them.
How do I pause my Local Services Ads?
For direct advertisers, pause the ad from its ad-scheduling controls to stop it from displaying, then switch it back on when delivery should resume.
The path is Local Services Ads > menu > Profile & Budget > Ad schedule. Select the blue text next to Ad schedule, choose All day, Only during my business hours, or Custom hours, and select Save. Google says setting the ad to paused stops it regardless of the schedule, and switching it back on resumes display under the selected schedule.
Pausing is the right control when you need to stop all leads temporarily. Google's editing guidance says deselecting job types is not equivalent because the overall category can still produce leads. Google also says a free version of the listing may appear when the ad is paused or outside its scheduled hours. Google's ad-scheduling guidance documents this behavior.
How do I cancel or remove my Local Services Ads account?
Pause the ad if you need to stop delivery. For account-level Local Services Ads cancellation or removal, contact Local Services Ads support because Google documents no standalone delete-account control in the current help paths.
Google's documented Local Services Ads paths cover editing, budgeting, pausing, and support. For a live account with the Google Verified badge, Google's Local Services Ads support guidance directs account-specific help to the Local Services Ads support form. Use that route for a request to cancel or remove the LSA account, rather than a generic Google Ads account-removal path.
Do not remove the Google Business Profile just to stop an LSA. Those are separate operations, and Business Profile removal has its own permanent consequences.
How do I remove my Google Business Profile instead?
Removing a Google Business Profile from the Google Account is different from pausing or cancelling Local Services Ads. Only the primary owner can remove the profile's content and managers, and the removal does not guarantee that the listing disappears from Google Maps or Search.
If the profile itself is the thing you want to remove, open the Business Profile and follow this path:
- Select More.
- Select Business Profile settings.
- Select Remove Business Profile.
- Select Remove profile content and managers, then Continue.
- Select Remove, then Done.
Google says this permanently removes owner and manager posts, photos, videos, and review replies. User-generated content and reviews remain. New owners and managers must wait 7 days before they can take this action. If the business is closing but should remain represented on Maps, use Google's permanent-closure path instead of removing the profile. Google's Business Profile removal guidance explains the difference.
The Google Business Profile editing and removal answer covers the other profile-edit branches, including closure and Search or Maps removal requests.

Common questions
- Does changing my Google Business Profile update Local Services Ads?
- For a new Local Services Ads account created directly from a Google Business Profile, Google says verified changes to the business name, address, and location type can automatically appear in Local Services Ads. Google does not describe this as a two-way sync: changes made in Local Services Ads do not flow back to the Business Profile. Phone-number changes follow the separate LSA support path above.
- Does removing my Google Business Profile cancel Local Services Ads?
- No. Google documents Business Profile removal and Local Services Ads support as separate operations. Pause the LSA to stop its delivery, and contact Local Services Ads support for account-level cancellation or removal. Use the Business Profile removal path only when you intend to remove the profile's content and managers from the Google Account.
