How do you edit your Google Business Profile?
Every field is edited from the profile itself, in Google Search or Maps, by an owner or a manager. Only an owner can delete it — Google gives managers all the same access with 2 exceptions, adding or removing users and removing the profile — and deleting to start over is the one edit that cannot be undone.
Where do you edit a Google Business Profile?
From the profile as it appears in Google Search or Google Maps while signed in to an account that manages it. Google's guidance is to set the business's main hours there, mark it closed when it is, and keep each fact in its own field. Maps Agent reads the public version of those fields in its free Visibility Score audit, which is a useful way to see what a customer actually sees rather than what the owner remembers entering.
How do you change your opening hours?
Set the main hours on the profile, and use the separate holiday or special-hours entries for the days that differ rather than editing the regular week each time. Hours are the field customers act on immediately, and a profile that is wrong about them produces the one-star review that says the door was locked — the cheapest bad review a business can earn.
How do you edit services and products?
They are their own sections on the profile, not part of the description, and each entry carries its own name, description and price where relevant. Remove what the business stopped offering rather than leaving it listed, because a service section is read as a promise. Google's guidelines ask the profile to represent the business as it is in the real world, and a stale service list is a small breach of exactly that.
How do you change photos or add a logo?
Photos are managed on the profile alongside the other fields, and the logo and cover image are specific slots rather than ordinary photos. Anyone can also add photos to a business listing, so an owner's set is one contribution among several — which is why a profile with few owner photos ends up illustrated by customers, at whatever angle they happened to shoot.
Which edits go to review before they appear?
The ones that change what the business is: the name, the category, the address, and sometimes the phone. Cosmetic edits usually publish immediately. Google publishes no timing for a held edit and no notification when one is rejected, so the reliable check is to reopen the profile a day later and read what it actually says now.
Can you add a second address to one profile?
No — one profile describes one location, and a second location needs its own. Google's guidelines are explicit that there should only be one profile per business and that no business should create more than one page per location. The mistake in both directions is the same: two profiles for one shop, or one profile carrying two shops.
Who can delete a Google Business Profile?
Only an owner. Google's roles page puts it plainly: an owner has "full control over the profile" including deleting it, while managers "can't add or remove users or remove the profile". That single difference is the reason to give a contractor manager access, since it is the only power on the profile that destroys something rather than changing it.
Should you delete a profile and start over?
Almost never. The reviews are attached to the profile, so starting over means starting at zero while the old listing may well persist in some form, and duplicate listings are what the guidelines forbid. A business that has genuinely closed marks itself closed; a business with a messy profile edits it, which takes an afternoon rather than years of rebuilding a rating.

Common questions
- Can you merge two Google Business Profiles?
- Duplicates are resolved with Google rather than combined by the owner, and the reviews do not always survive the process. The reliable move is to claim both, keep the one carrying the reviews and the history, and mark or remove the other — deciding which is which before touching either.
- How long does it take to remove a profile?
- Google publishes no timeline for removal, and the listing may continue to appear while the change propagates. That gap is why a business closing a location should mark it closed first: a listing marked closed tells a customer the truth immediately, while a deletion request tells them nothing at all.
- Can anyone else change my business information?
- The public can suggest edits to facts like hours or the address, and Google may apply a suggestion without asking the owner. Only owners and managers edit directly. A profile nobody checks can therefore drift without anyone doing anything wrong, which is the argument for reading it on a schedule.
- What happens to reviews if the address changes?
- They stay, because they are attached to the profile rather than to the address. What loses reviews is creating a new listing for the new address instead of editing the existing one — a move that starts an empty profile while the reviews sit on a listing the business has stopped maintaining.
- Can you temporarily disable a profile?
- Mark it temporarily closed rather than removing it. Google's guidance covers setting the main hours or marking the business closed, which keeps the listing, the reviews and the history intact while telling customers not to turn up. Removal is for a business that no longer exists.
