Partner adds a human team and personal manager.1 A local toolkit with Local Base, Local Pro, and a customizable Local Business path for businesses with 20 or more locations. Maps Agent Autopost covers the profile with four posts with original images published on schedule each month, one-time business research, a public report page, and profile activity numbers. Local Base and Local Pro use the per-location basis shown in the price block.2

What listing and review work is described? Maps Agent does not include review management, review responses, or directory listings.1 Local Base lists auto-replies to reviews. Local Pro adds Review Management and Listing Management, which shares and manages business information across 70+ directories; available directories depend on country.2

What do the two plan structures mean for one location?

Semrush Local has two main plans and a customizable Local Business offer for businesses with 20 or more locations. Local Base lists a Google Business Profile audit and optimization plan, automated post generation and publishing, auto-replies to reviews, automated photo posting, business-description optimization, geo-grid tracking with Map Rank Tracker, competitor reports, and a Map Rank Tracker reporting API. The page states that Local Base includes 375 geo-grid credits.2 Local Pro carries the GBP AI Agent functionality and adds Listing Management, Review Management, GBP Optimization, and a larger Map Rank Tracker allocation; its Map Rank Tracker section states that 1,225 credits are included.2

Maps Agent publishes three cumulative tiers:

  1. Autopost includes four posts with original images published on schedule each month, one-time business research before the first post, a public report page, and the profile's views, calls, directions, site visits, and searches that found the business.1
  2. AI Team inherits Autopost and adds 100 keywords per month mapped to intent and a specific service, four products per month, four Q&A posts per month, four Q&A services per month, business-description optimization, a position-grid rank report with competitors, and images matched to the trade and city.1
  3. Partner inherits AI Team and adds a human team with a personal manager, the business's own photos, manual quality control of everything the AI team ships, and a meet-your-team call before purchase.1

The handoff between tiers is therefore different. Semrush puts listing, review, and GBP Optimization scope in Local Pro. Maps Agent adds broader profile work in AI Team and human direction and verification in Partner.21

Which option covers listing and review work?

Semrush Local Base lists auto-replies to Google reviews. Semrush Local Pro adds Review Management and describes centralized monitoring, negative-review alerts, review-generation campaigns by SMS or email, AI reply drafts or auto-replies, and competitor review analytics. The page limits that competitor analysis to up to 10 reports per month, with up to 10 competitors in each report.2

Semrush Local Pro also adds Listing Management. Semrush says the feature shares and manages business information across 70+ directories with one click. Available directories depend on country. The page also names healthcare directories for US locations with a healthcare-related category. It lists duplicate and user-suggestion management and a listing management API.2

The same Local Pro feature block lists GBP data and insights, GBP posting with AI, GBP edits and suggestions, bulk GBP connect and edit, team collaboration, and location grouping.2

Maps Agent says no tier includes review management, review responses, citation building, directory listings, call tracking, social media management, website building, rank guarantees, a live dashboard, or an approval workflow. Semrush Local Pro names review and listing work through Review Management and Listing Management, including one-click distribution across 70+ directories, with available directories depending on country.21

How do their rank-tracking reports differ?

Maps Agent AI Team describes a position grid on 100 keywords per month. The keywords are mapped to intent and a specific service. The report includes competitors.1

Semrush Local Base describes Map Rank Tracker with 375 geo-grid credits. Semrush Local Pro lists 1,225 credits. Compare the query set, grid, date, and credit unit before comparing report totals.2

Keywords and credits are different declared units. Compare them as declared units rather than as equivalent totals.21 The broader local SEO comparison adds other published options.

Who has to operate the work after purchase?

Maps Agent Autopost assigns the posting work to the plan. AI Team describes the wider body of profile work. Partner adds people who direct and verify it, a personal manager, manual quality control, and a meet-your-team call.1

Semrush Local's cited page describes a GBP AI Agent, post generation and publishing, photo posting, profile audit and optimization, rank tracking, listing management, review management, and reporting features. Ask who supplies profile access, business information, photos, review responses, and ongoing decisions before purchase.2

What should I check about reporting and profile access?

Google's Business Profile third-party policy sets the floor for either option. The business must retain ownership or co-ownership of its profile, may choose whether a partner receives Co-owner, Manager, or no partner access, and should invite an existing profile as Manager rather than Owner.3 A third party must provide a quick and easy way to discontinue its service; within 7 business days of notice, it must let the business disassociate the Google Account used to manage the profile and regain exclusive control. If the third party has permission to manage or otherwise change the account, it must also relinquish and remove those permissions.3

Google also requires Business Profile data to be reported separately from non-Business Profile data unless the Business Profile-specific data is also available in an easy-to-access place. Cost and performance reports must be easy for the customer to access, and one customer's profile data must not be compared or shared with another customer's data.3

Maps Agent says the customer controls the Manager-role invitation, can remove access before or after cancellation, and keeps published work on the profile after cancellation. The pricing page says cancellation is one button in the account or an email, and billing stops at that moment.1 Apply Google's ownership and reporting rules to the account arrangement you are offered, whatever product you choose.3

Is Maps Agent a replacement for Semrush Local?

Maps Agent can fit when the primary need is recurring Google Maps profile work, scheduled posts with original images, a public profile report, and a keyword position grid with competitors on AI Team. Partner adds a human team and personal manager when that operating model matters.1

Semrush Local Pro can fit when the primary need includes the named Listing Management, Review Management, GBP Optimization, 70+ directory distribution, and competitor review analytics. Local Business is the path Semrush names for 20 or more locations.2

The offers are not like-for-like when the decision depends on those different work units. Write down the location basis, profile work, photo responsibility, rank unit, report delivered, listing and review jobs, and human involvement before choosing.

How was this comparison checked?

The Semrush facts and prices were read on 2026-10-05 from Local Toolkit Pricing and Plans. Maps Agent's plan composition, access, cancellation, billing statements, and tier exclusions were read on 2026-10-05 from its public pricing page. Google ownership, access, exit, and reporting rules were read on 2026-10-05 from Business Profile third-party policies.213

To repeat this comparison, use the same first-party pages and record the date you read them:

  1. Read Semrush Local's pricing page as rendered. Record the Local Base and Local Pro price strings with their per-location monthly basis, and record the Local Business 20+ location sales path. Do not infer an annual amount or a numeric Local Business price when the source does not print one.
  2. Read Maps Agent's pricing and compare the catalog-backed Autopost, AI Team, and Partner rows with their monthly billing basis and scope. Record each displayed price string exactly as shown.
  3. Record the named work, rank-tracking unit, credit allocation, directory and review limits, access terms, and cancellation terms exactly as shown. Do not normalize keywords, credits, locations, or unlike billing units.
  4. Check the billing controls before recording prices. The Semrush page had no monthly/annual selector in the rendered view; Maps Agent displayed one monthly view and stated that there is no annual option. If a selector appears later, record each displayed view separately and never fill an unrendered view from another one.
  5. Repeat the check quarterly, or sooner when a vendor changes its public pricing, plan names, billing display, or feature packaging.

A clear quote states the fields or channels covered, the work performed, the reporting window, the access required, the cancellation terms, and anything excluded.
