How do Maps Agent and Whitespark differ for a local business?

By Sergey Sulimko, Founder

No contracts. Cancel anytime. Maps Agent publishes three month-to-month tiers with no setup fee or per-location charge. Whitespark sells separate product and service lines, and its pricing page says all prices are in USD.12 Maps Agent packages recurring Google Business Profile work into tiers. Whitespark lets a buyer choose individual lines for profile management, rank measurement, citations, reputation, listings, or SEO services.

Question Maps Agent Whitespark
What is being bought? A tiered body of work on a Google Business Profile. Autopost covers publishing, AI Team adds profile work, and Partner adds a human team, the customer's own photos, and manual quality control.1 Individual product and service lines. Whitespark's pricing page says they are sold separately.2
What rank tracking is described? AI Team includes a position grid on the buyer's keywords with competitors and 100 keywords per month mapped to intent and a specific service.1 Local Ranking Grids is described as monitoring local rankings across up to 225 geographical points. Local Rank Tracker monitors local and organic search performance.2
What citation work is described? Maps Agent has no tier that includes citation building or directory listings.1 Local Citation Finder tracks down citations and monitors existing citations. Listings Service covers citation building and listing cleanup.2
How is the price basis presented? The pricing page presents monthly tiers. It says the displayed price is the whole price, with no setup fee, contract, or per-location charge.1 The pricing page presents separate lines with monthly, per-location monthly, range, and one-time bases.2

What does Maps Agent include and exclude?

Maps Agent's pricing page names three tiers: Autopost, AI Team, and Partner. Every tier is month to month. The page says there is no setup fee, no onboarding fee, no contract, no annual option, no credits, no add-ons, and no per-location charge. It also says no phone number is asked for at any point.1

The tiers differ by the operating path they name. Autopost includes four monthly posts with original images, one-time business research, a public report page, and profile numbers for views, calls, directions, site visits, and the searches that found the business. AI Team adds 100 monthly keywords mapped to intent and a specific service, four Google Products items, four Q&A posts, four Q&A services, business-description optimization, a competitor position-grid rank report, and trade-and-city images. Partner adds a human team with a personal manager, the customer's own photos, manual quality control, and a meet-your-team call.1

The same page lists work that Maps Agent does not do on any tier: review management, review responses, citation building, directory listings, call tracking, social media management, website building, rank guarantees, a live dashboard, or an approval workflow.1 A buyer who needs one of those jobs will need a separate provider or an in-house owner for that work.

Read the Maps Agent pricing page for the current tier composition before choosing a plan, and use the comparison hub for the wider vendor set.

What does Whitespark publish for products and services?

Whitespark describes separately sold lines rather than one bundled offer. Its pricing page lists Local Platform, Local Ranking Grids, Local Rank Tracker, Local Citation Finder, Reputation Builder, SEO Services, Listings Service, Yext Replacement Service, and Enterprise Services, and links to a GBP Reinstatement Service.2

For its priced lines, the page gives each line a billing basis and a stated scope. It also lists Enterprise Services for multi-location enterprise local search support, but no numeric amount is displayed.2

Whitespark line Billing basis shown on the page Scope described on the page
Local Platform Monthly, per location Manage Google Business Profiles, prevent unwanted updates, and edit locations in bulk.
Local Ranking Grids Monthly starting price; enterprise pricing available Monitor local rankings across up to 225 geographical points.
Local Rank Tracker Monthly range Monitor local and organic search performance.
Local Citation Finder Monthly range Find citation opportunities and monitor existing citations.
Reputation Builder Monthly, per location; custom multi-location pricing available A review-getting and review-managing service.
SEO Services Monthly range; add-ons and custom pricing available A complete SEO service.
Listings Service One-time package range Citation building and listing cleanup.
Yext Replacement Service One-time fee, per location A Yext alternative.
Enterprise Services No numeric amount displayed Multi-location enterprise local search support.
GBP Reinstatement Service (linked service) No numeric amount displayed Help for a suspended Google Business Profile.

Each printed amount stays attached to its priced line. A per-location amount, a starting price, a range, and a one-time fee remain separate buying units rather than a common monthly total.2

This structure answers a different buying question from a tiered profile-work plan. Start with the job: rank measurement, citation discovery, listing cleanup, reputation work, or managed SEO. Then compare the named line's scope and price basis with the work that still belongs to the business.

How do the rank-tracking options differ?

The Maps Agent pricing page describes one AI Team rank-report shape: a position grid on the buyer's keywords, with competitors. It also names 100 keywords per month mapped to intent and a specific service.1

Whitespark names two monthly rank-tracking products on its pricing page. Local Ranking Grids describes monitoring across up to 225 geographical points. Local Rank Tracker describes local and organic search performance.2

These descriptions tell the buyer what each page says the product measures. They do not establish a ranking outcome for either vendor. A report is a measurement of the queries and locations it covers, not a promise of a position.

What citation work does each vendor describe?

Whitespark's Local Citation Finder is described as a way to find citations and monitor existing citations. Its Listings Service is described as citation building and listing cleanup.2

The Maps Agent pricing page says no tier includes citation building or directory listings.1 That is the clearest dividing line for a buyer whose immediate job is cleaning up or building business listings: Whitespark publishes named lines for that work, while Maps Agent's published tiers do not include it.

For a decision that includes more than these two vendors, start with the 2026 local SEO comparison.

Which option fits the job I need done?

Choose Maps Agent when the need is a defined, recurring path for work on a Google Business Profile, with a month-to-month tier and an explicit list of excluded jobs. Choose Whitespark when the need is to assemble separate lines for profile management, rank tracking, citation work, reputation work, listings, or SEO services.12

Compare the decision path, access, change list, measurement, and exit terms rather than the label. The choice is about scope and buying model. It is not a claim that either vendor will produce a particular ranking or business result.

How was this comparison checked?

The rendered Maps Agent pricing page and Whitespark's pricing page were opened on 2026-10-05. Maps Agent's page shows “Last updated August 30, 2026”; Whitespark's page does not display a page-level publication or update date.12

To repeat the check quarterly, or sooner after a visible price, plan, or billing-basis change, open each named vendor's pricing URL as rendered. On Whitespark's page, scan the complete Software and Services sections and the linked GBP Reinstatement Service. On Maps Agent's page, check all three tier blocks, their inherited and tier-specific labels, the cancellation terms, and the complete “What no tier includes” list. Record every printed product or service name, exact price string, billing basis, stated scope, any source-stated date, and the date you read it. Keep monthly, per-location, range, starting-price, custom, and one-time wording attached to its own line. Treat unlike billing bases as separate units. Do not calculate an equivalent monthly price or infer an unpublished capability.
