How do Moz Local and Yext compare on price, listings, and buying?

By Sergey Sulimko, Founder

No contracts. Cancel anytime. Maps Agent says cancellation is one button in the account or an email, and billing stops at that moment. Moz Local publishes named Lite, Preferred, and Elite plans with monthly and yearly views, plus a Custom Enterprise path for 50+ locations. Yext uses custom solution pricing with no single published price or fixed public tier menu. Maps Agent publishes month-to-month Google Business Profile tiers with no setup fee, no contract, and no per-location charge. Moz Local describes 90+ listing directories and supported management in US, UK, and Canadian business listings. Yext describes 200-plus publishers globally. Directory listings and citation building are listed among the exclusions on the Maps Agent pricing page.123

Question Moz Local Yext Maps Agent What the difference means
What pricing path is published? Lite, Preferred, and Elite plan cards with monthly and yearly views; Enterprise is Custom for 50+ locations. Custom solution pricing with no single published price or fixed public tier menu. Billing is typically annual, with other cadences arranged as commercial terms. Published month-to-month tiers with no setup fee, contract, or per-location charge. Keep monthly, yearly, custom, and per-location bases separate.
What listing scope is described? Purchased management for US, UK, and Canadian business listings. Lite lists 90+ directories. 200-plus publishers globally, including Google, Apple, Facebook, Bing, and Yelp. Google Business Profile work. No tier includes directory listings. Network distribution and profile work are different jobs.
What plan or solution scope is described? Lite lists Local Grid, 90+ directories, Review Monitoring, and Data Health analytics. Preferred and Elite add the capabilities named on the pricing page. Yext packages capabilities around a solution. Its FAQ describes a Knowledge Graph as a source of truth for brand and location facts, with distribution, content, review, social, and measurement capabilities. The catalog-backed tiers cover profile posts, products, Q&A content, description work, keyword reporting, and images; Partner adds people directing and verifying the work. Compare the work and operator responsibility, not the plan label.
Who is the stated buying path? Each physical location needs its own subscription. Users with more than 50 locations are directed to the Enterprise team. Enterprise is Yext's primary channel. Yext recommends a Yext reseller partner to a smaller business that wants hands-on support. AI Team describes profile work without calls or an account manager. Partner adds a human team and a meet-your-team call. Ask who owns location count, support, execution, and handoff.

How do Moz Local and Yext differ on published pricing?

Moz Local gives a buyer a named plan menu. Its pricing page shows Lite, Preferred, and Elite, then presents a Custom Enterprise path for 50+ locations. The same page presents monthly and yearly billing views. Yext says its pricing is custom, packages capabilities around a solution, and has no fixed public menu of tiers.12

Yext says the quote depends on the location or provider footprint, the solution, and the commitment length. Billing is typically annual, but Yext says other cadences can be arranged as commercial terms. Multi-year commitments can receive better rates.2 Maps Agent publishes month-to-month tiers and states that the price shown is the whole price, with no setup fee, contract, or per-location charge.3

The practical difference is the buyer's first step. Moz Local starts with a visible plan choice. Yext starts with a solution and footprint discussion. Maps Agent starts with a published tier choice on its pricing page.

Which listing network does each vendor describe?

Moz Local says it supports purchased management of US, UK, and Canadian business listings. The Lite card lists 90+ directories. Yext says it covers 200-plus publishers globally, including Google, Apple, Facebook, Bing, and Yelp.12

Those statements describe different network boundaries. A business operating in the countries Moz Local names can compare its directory needs with the directories shown in the selected plan. A business that needs the publisher footprint Yext names should ask which publishers and solution bundle appear in its quote.

Maps Agent describes a different job. Its published scope is work inside the customer's Google Business Profile. The pricing page explicitly leaves citation building and directory listings outside every tier.3 For a broader vendor set, see the local SEO options comparison. For a narrower comparison of Maps Agent and Moz Local, read Maps Agent vs Moz Local.

What does each vendor say it includes?

Moz Local's Lite scope includes Local Grid, 90+ listing directories, Review Monitoring, and Data Health analytics. Preferred adds review responding, review sentiment analysis, social posting to Google and Facebook, social analytics, content and post libraries, competitor analysis, and agency permissions. Elite adds Listings AI, more social channels, Facebook social advertising, social responding, and a reporting suite.1

Yext says its solution pricing packages capabilities around the customer's goal. Its FAQ describes the Knowledge Graph as a source of truth for brand and location facts, then names distribution to publishers, page and content generation, review and social management, and Scout measurement of AI answers and traditional search. Yext says every subscription includes support and self-service resources, while higher support levels, strategic services, and specialized offerings are separate options.2

Maps Agent describes profile-level work. Its catalog-backed tiers include scheduled posts, profile numbers, keyword mapping, Google Products entries, Q&A posts and services, business-description optimization, a position-grid report, and trade- and city-matched images. Partner adds people directing and verifying the work.3

The scope is not interchangeable. Moz Local and Yext describe distribution and broader presence management. The pricing page lists review management, review responses, citation building, directory listings, call tracking, social media management, website building, live dashboard, and approval workflow as outside every tier.3

What does Yext say happens after cancellation?

Yext says cancellation stops Yext from sending data to publishers, but it does not cancel or delete the publisher listing. Service continues until the paid-through date, after which control returns to the publisher.2

Yext says the publisher may keep the last update, revert to older data, or land between those states. Ask for the exit process in writing when a listing network is part of the purchase.2

Which buying path fits a small business or a multi-location operator?

Moz Local says each physical location requires its own subscription, and businesses with more than 50 locations should contact its team. Its Enterprise page labels the path Custom and says it is ideal for users with 50 or more locations.1

Yext says enterprise is its primary channel. The same FAQ recommends a Yext reseller partner for a small business that wants hands-on support.2 That is a buying-path statement from Yext, not a claim about every partner's scope.

Maps Agent describes a Google Business Profile service rather than a directory-management network. AI Team is described as the whole body of work on the profile, without calls or an account manager. Partner adds people directing and verifying the work and a meet-your-team call before purchase.3

Use the vendor's stated path as a screening question. A multi-location operator should ask Moz Local or Yext to define the locations, publishers, solution bundle, and exit process. A single-location business should decide whether its job is directory distribution or work on the Google Business Profile itself.

Which option should I choose for the work I need?

  • Choose Moz Local when a visible plan menu and purchased listing management across its supported countries match the job. Confirm the directories, plan features, and physical-location count before buying.1
  • Choose Yext when a custom solution bundle and source-of-truth workflow across the publisher network it describes match the job. Ask for the publishers, solution scope, billing cadence, and cancellation handoff in writing.2
  • Choose Maps Agent when the job is work on a Google Business Profile and the customer wants a published month-to-month tier. Keep directory listings, citation building, and the other exclusions on the pricing page with a separate owner or provider.3

The comparison between Maps Agent and a broader operator is covered in who does local SEO for you. The right choice depends on the listing surfaces, the person carrying the recurring work, and the handoff the buyer is willing to manage.

Compare a provider's named services and costs, not a broad package name.

How do I repeat this pricing and scope check?

Repeat the check on the same day by opening Moz Local's pricing page, Yext's pricing FAQ, and Maps Agent's pricing page. On Moz Local, use both Pay monthly and Pay yearly, and record every base-plan and add-on display exactly as printed, including USD, /mo, /yr, billed yearly, savings text, Included in package, and Custom; read its multiple-location FAQ on the same page. On Yext, read the pricing, billing, solution and footprint, enterprise, reseller, publisher, support, and cancellation sections. Record a numeric price only if the page prints one; otherwise keep its custom-pricing wording and do not infer a quote. For Maps Agent, confirm the three published tiers, their month-to-month basis, inherited scope, public exclusions, and cancellation terms. Keep the three source URLs, the actual read date, the displayed billing controls, and each vendor's units together.

Recheck quarterly, or sooner when a named vendor changes its public pricing, billing control, plan menu, publisher count, cancellation wording, or buying path. Do not turn an annual display into a monthly comparison, infer a Yext quote, or treat a publisher count as an equivalent to Google Business Profile work.
