Bing Places for Business

By Sergey Sulimko, Founder2 min read

Bing Places for Business is Microsoft's free listing service for creating and managing a business listing on Bing Search and Bing Maps.1

Microsoft's current support path says to use Bing Places for Business to claim or update a listing when adding or changing business information in Bing Maps search results. Microsoft also warns that some features and functionality may not be available in every country or region.2

Microsoft's October 3, 2025 launch announcement describes the details its import and recommendation flows work with: business name, hours, contact details, photos, a website link, social-media links, and, for some businesses, menu or online-order links.1

Bing Places is separate from Google Business Profile and Apple Business.134 Google describes Google Business Profile as the product for controlling a free profile's appearance on Google Search and Google Maps. Apple describes Apple Business place cards across Apple software, including Apple Maps, Siri, Calendar, and Messages.34 Microsoft also describes importing listings from Google into Bing Places.1

Microsoft separates Bing Places listing maintenance from AI Performance reporting.5 It says businesses can register with Bing Places to help keep address, hours, and contact information current and eligible for inclusion in AI-generated responses.5 AI Performance is a separate Bing Webmaster Tools feature that reports citation activity for publisher content; Microsoft says its measures do not indicate ranking, authority, or placement.5 For the wider relationship between listings and AI search, see the AI search hub and the guide to ranking higher with local SEO.
