Troubleshooting

Why are my regular Google Business Profile hours not showing after I save them?

By Sergey Sulimko, Founder7 min read

Start by comparing two views: Edit profile → Hours while signed in, and the public Business Profile in Google Search or Maps. If Open with no main hours is selected, Google says the profile will not show regular hours. If Open with main hours is selected, check the saved days and times, then inspect the edit status and verification state. For verified profiles, Google says edits usually take up to 10 minutes to review, but some take up to 30 days.123

What should I check first when my saved hours do not show?

The public profile tells you whether customers can see the hours; the editor shows the hours state you saved, and the edit-status view tells you whether Google accepted, is reviewing, or did not approve the change.124

What you see What it points to Next check
Open with no main hours is selected Regular hours are intentionally hidden Select Open with main hours, enter the open days and times, and select Save.1
The weekly schedule is visible, but a service schedule is missing The missing value may be More hours, not regular hours Set the service-specific hours separately, and keep regular hours saved first.5
The weekly schedule is visible, but a holiday or brief exception is missing The missing value may be Special hours Check the date under Special hours and confirm that the profile uses Open with main hours.6
The editor shows Open with main hours and the saved weekly entries, but the public profile has no hours The edit may be pending, not approved, or affected by verification Check the edit status and the profile's verification state before saving another version.23
The editor accepts an hours edit, but the profile is unverified Saving the field did not establish customer-facing visibility Check verification. Google says unverified profile content might not appear across Google.23

Why does “Open with no main hours” hide my saved schedule?

Open with no main hours is a deliberate setting that tells Google not to show regular hours on the profile. It is not a processing delay. Regular or main hours describe the normal week, so choose Open with main hours, check each day the business is open, enter the time ranges, and select Save.1

To change the setting, open the Business Profile while signed in and go to Edit profile → Hours. In Business hours, select Edit next to Hours, choose Open with main hours, enter the weekly schedule, and save it.1

Did I save More hours instead of regular business hours?

More hours are service-specific hours, not the business's normal weekly schedule. Google gives delivery, takeout, drive-through, and pickup as examples. More hours do not display until regular hours are set, and Google generally recommends making them a subset of the primary hours.5

If the normal weekly schedule is missing, return to Business hours and set the main hours first. If only a service schedule is missing, open the More-hours control and configure that service separately. When a profile has several More-hours types, Google says each type must be set separately.5 The page on More hours and holiday hours covers the differences and the separate setup paths.

Are the missing hours actually Special hours?

Special hours are temporary changes to the whole business's schedule, such as a holiday or special event. They do not replace regular hours, and Google says they show only when business hours are set to Open with main hours.6

Check Edit profile → Hours → Special hours for the date and saved value. Use Special hours for a brief temporary adjustment or a closure of up to 6 consecutive days. Use More hours when one service has a different recurring schedule, and use Temporarily closed for a closure of 7 or more consecutive days or for an unknown period.6

If the problem is a holiday date rather than the normal week, follow the More hours and holiday hours explanation instead of changing the regular schedule.

Could the profile be unverified even though Google let me save hours?

Yes. Google says an unverified profile can still edit some information, including hours, but content associated with an unverified profile might not appear across Google. Check the profile's verification state before treating a saved hours field as customer-facing.23

Open the profile's verification status and look for the verification action Google provides. Google directs businesses to check verification status before submitting an appeal. Do not assume that an hours field becoming editable means that the hours are visible to customers.3

If the question is about a planned opening rather than a normal weekly schedule, use the Google Business Profile opening-date setup. An opening date is a separate field and does not replace regular hours.

Is Google still processing the hours edit, or was it not approved?

A saved hours edit is not necessarily a live edit. For a verified profile, Google labels the result Accepted, Pending, or Not approved, and each label changes what you should do next.2

Status What Google says it means Next check
Accepted The updated information displays on the Business Profile Open the public profile and compare the displayed hours with the value you saved.
Pending The edit is still under review Allow the review window. Google says review usually takes up to 10 minutes, but sometimes takes up to 30 days.
Not approved Google might not approve the change if it cannot confirm its accuracy Check the submitted hours against the real business schedule, then use the status and any available Google review path.

The review window is not a promise that every edit will appear within 10 minutes. Treat Pending as an active review until the status changes, and do not call the edit Accepted just because the form saved.2 The separate guide on Google Business Profile edits that are rejected or pending explains what evidence to keep for each status.

Did Google change the hours after I saved them?

A changed public value can be a Google update rather than a rejected owner edit. Check for a notification and an alert in the profile's Edit profile section before submitting the same hours again.2

Google says it might update profile information when it receives reports that the business information is inaccurate. When that happens, Google says the business receives a notification and sees an alert in Edit profile.2 Compare the current public hours with the value in the editor, and record the notification or alert if one appears.

What should I do when none of these checks explains it?

Repeat the diagnosis in this order: inspect Edit profile → Hours, identify whether the profile uses main, More, or Special hours, check verification, read the edit status, and compare the public profile in Search or Maps. If the public profile already shows the normal weekly schedule, the missing value is not a regular-hours visibility problem. Check the service or date-specific field instead.

Do not apply the 30-day maximum to every case. A profile set to Open with no main hours needs a setting change; a More-hours value needs regular hours first; an unverified profile needs its verification state checked; and a Pending edit needs the review window that Google documents. The next check depends on the state you can see.

Common questions

How long should I wait for Google Business Profile hours to show?
For an edit to a verified profile, Google says review usually takes up to 10 minutes, but some edits can take up to 30 days. Check whether the status is Pending before deciding that the hours failed.
Can More hours show if regular hours are missing?
No. Google says More hours do not display until regular hours are set. Set the normal weekly schedule first, then configure each service-specific hours type separately.
Why do holiday hours not show when I saved them?
Special hours show only when the profile is set to Open with main hours. Check the main-hours setting and the saved date under Special hours before changing the regular weekly schedule.
