Troubleshooting
Why is my Google Business Profile verification still pending?
Google Business Profile verification is not one universal wait. If you completed the method Google offered and the profile shows no failure or rejection, Google says the review can take up to 5 business days, and rare reviews may take longer. Record the method, the date you finished it, and the exact status on screen, then use the matching branch below. A returning Get verified, Review issues, Not successful, additional info to re-verify, suspended, disabled, restricted, or appeal signal is a different state from an ordinary pending review.1,2,3,4

What should I check first?
Open the Google Business Profile verification status while signed in to the Google Account that manages the profile. Record the verification method, when you completed or uploaded it, and the exact button or status that appears now. Google chooses the available verification methods for each business, so a missing method is not a review that is simply taking longer.1
| What you see now | Which state this is | Timing you can use | Next check |
|---|---|---|---|
| You submitted a method and see no failure or rejection | Ordinary verification review1 | Up to 5 business days after you complete the verification steps; rare reviews may take longer1 | Check the current verification status and follow any current on-screen instruction. Do not turn the stated window into a completion guarantee. |
| You uploaded a video and it is still under review | Video review2 | Up to 5 business days after upload2 | Keep waiting in the video branch and check for the result. Do not treat a later Review issues message as ordinary pending review. |
| The video says Not successful or shows Review issues | Video rejection, not pending review1,2 | No ordinary pending window applies | Select Review issues, read the reasons, and record a new video that addresses them.2 |
| Get verified appears again | Verification did not complete1 | No ordinary pending window applies | Try to verify again. Use another method only if the profile displays it.1 |
| The profile asks for additional info to re-verify | Re-verification after a business-detail change1 | No universal window is stated | Select Get verified, review the requested information, and follow the current steps.1 |
| No verification method is offered | Method-availability problem, not a submitted review1 | No review window applies | Confirm the profile and account, then use the no-verification-method breakdown. Google says the owner cannot add a method that Google has not offered.1 |
| A phone or SMS method was offered, but no code arrived | Access or delivery problem for that method1 | Google does not state a separate phone or SMS delivery window | Confirm that the listed business number can receive the call or text. An Interactive Voice Response system cannot receive the code.1 |
| An email method was offered, but the step is incomplete | Email access problem1 | Google does not state a separate email window | Confirm access to the email address shown on the verification screen and follow that screen's instructions.1 |
| A live video call was offered, but you cannot complete it | Eligibility or scheduling problem1 | Calls are available only during the location's business hours1 | Use the call during the location's business hours. If the displayed options still cannot verify the business, use Google's support route.1 |
| A postcard was offered, but the code has not arrived | Postcard delivery branch1 | Most codes arrive within 14 days1 | Keep the business name, address, and category unchanged. Do not request another code while the first is in the mail.1 |
| The profile is suspended, disabled, restricted, or in an appeal flow | Restriction or appeal, not ordinary verification review3,4 | An appeal review can take up to 5 business days3 | Check the verification status before appealing. Do not submit duplicate appeals or create a second profile for the same business.3,4 |
| An existing listing is unverified and no method has been completed | Add-or-claim branch, not post-submission review5 | No review window applies yet | Search Google Maps for the listing, select Claim this business and Manage now when shown, then choose the verification option Google offers.5 |

The table is a diagnostic sequence, not a ranking of likely causes. Start with the cheapest observable check: the exact method and status on the profile.
Why is my verification still pending after I submitted the method?
A submitted verification with no failure message is still in the review branch, but Google does not promise that every review finishes within 5 business days. Google says the review takes up to 5 business days after the verification steps are complete, and that rare reviews may take longer.1
Count from the point when you completed the method, not from when you first opened the verification screen. Check the status again and follow the instruction Google currently shows. If you used Google Search Console or bulk verification, identify that exception before applying the ordinary review window because Google says those profiles may be instantly verified.1
What should I do if Google offered video verification?
An uploaded video that is still under review belongs to the 5-business-day video branch. A Review issues or Not successful message means Google did not accept the recording. Google says video review can take up to 5 business days after upload. If the result is unsuccessful, Google says to read the reasons and record a new video.2
Use the Google Business Profile video verification preparation guide for the recording requirements. A new recording is a recovery path after an unsuccessful video. It is not a reason to upload the same failed recording without reading the issues Google displays.2
What should I do if Google offered a postcard?
Most postcard codes arrive within 14 days, but requesting another code while the first is in the mail can make the process longer. Google says not to edit the business name, address, or category while waiting because those changes make the mailed code unusable. Google also says verification codes expire after 30 days.1
Keep the current profile details unchanged while the postcard is in transit. Follow the Google Business Profile verification-code guide if the postcard does not arrive, and use it for the phone, SMS, email, and code-entry branches. Keep any code private. Google says it will not ask for it and that it should not be shared, including with people who manage the profile.1
What if I was offered phone, SMS, email, or live video?
These methods need a method-specific access check, not an invented delivery deadline. Google says a phone or SMS verifier must be able to answer the business phone or receive texts, and an Interactive Voice Response system will not receive the code. For email verification, the verifier must be able to use the address shown on the verification screen.1
Live video verification may not be available for every business. Google says live video calls are available only during the location's business hours and recommends contacting support if the available options still cannot verify the business.1

If the method is no longer usable, check the options Google currently displays. Do not assume that waiting will create a different method, because Google determines the available methods automatically.1
Is no verification method the same as a pending review?
No. No displayed method means the profile has not reached a submitted review through a usable method. Google says verification methods are automatically determined and can depend on the business type, public information, region, or business hours. The owner cannot change the list manually.1
If an existing unverified profile already appears, use Google's add-or-claim path: search for the business on Google Maps, select Claim this business and Manage now when applicable, then select a verification option and follow the on-screen instructions. Do not use that path to bypass a review already submitted for the same profile.5
Is a suspended or restricted profile just taking longer to verify?
No. A suspended, disabled, restricted, or appeal status is a separate policy and appeal branch. Google's restriction guidance says to check the verification status before submitting an appeal. It says appeal reviews and decisions can take up to 5 business days, tells owners not to submit multiple appeals for the same issue before a decision, and says not to create a new Business Profile for the same business.3
Google's suspension guidance also treats suspended or disabled profiles as a separate state and warns against creating a replacement profile. Follow the appeal status shown for the existing profile instead of restarting verification on a duplicate.4
What should I do when the status still has not changed?
Match the next action to the exact label you recorded:
- Pending review with no failure signal: check the current verification status after the applicable method window. Google gives no universal completion guarantee beyond saying that ordinary reviews can take up to 5 business days and rare reviews may take longer.1
- Video rejection: select Review issues, follow the listed reasons, and record a new video if Google says the first one was not accepted.2
- Postcard in the mail: leave the business name, address, and category unchanged and do not request another code while the current one is in transit.1
- No usable method: use the current support route shown by Google after confirming the profile and account. Do not create another profile for the same business.1,3,4

Keep a short record of the profile, method, completion or upload date, exact screen text, and any changes made before the status appeared. That record lets you follow the right branch without restarting a method that Google has not told you to restart.
Common questions
- No. Google says the review takes up to 5 business days, but rare reviews may take longer. That is a stated review window, not a promise that every profile will be verified by a particular date.
- No. Do not request another postcard while the current one is in the mail. Google says a new request invalidates the code already in transit and sends a new one, which can make the process longer.
- No. After a video upload, “Review issues” means Google did not accept that video and wants you to follow the displayed instructions. A suspension or restriction is a separate profile state with its own appeal path.
