Troubleshooting

Why was my Google Business Profile video verification rejected?

If Google shows Review issues, the video was not accepted. Open that notice first, read the missing evidence, and record a new live video that keeps everything from the first recording and adds every missing item. Google says review can take up to 5 business days. If the profile shows Get verified again instead, use the broader Google Business Profile verification path.12

First, check which verification state you have

What you see What it means What to do next
Review issues after uploading a video Google did not accept that video and has listed the issues it wants addressed. Open Review issues, read each issue, then record and upload a replacement video with the original and missing evidence.
Get verified appears again Google could not completely verify the business. This is a general re-verification state, not the video-specific issue list. Select Get verified and use the method or methods Google offers for this profile.
No rejection or verification prompt is visible You do not yet have a Google-listed issue to diagnose. Confirm the correct profile and current status before recording again.

Do not guess from the rejection alone. The exact issue under Review issues tells you which evidence to add; it does not publish a frequency ranking of failure causes.

Google's examples include a business name that is not visible on the storefront, no nearby area shown, and missing proof of authorization to operate the business. Those examples are clues for the next shot, not evidence that one cause is more common than another.1

What should I add to the next recording?

Match the issue to the evidence group below. Keep all information shown in the first recording, then add the missing group. The correct column depends on whether the business serves customers at its address, visits or delivers to customers, or does both.13

Missing or rejected evidence Storefront Hybrid Service-area Add in the next recording
Location or nearby area Street signs, building numbers, nearby businesses, or familiar places around the business The same location evidence as a storefront Street signs, nearby landmarks, or other identifiers at the business address. Avoid empty land or places without clear markers. Keep the first video's evidence and add a clear location marker.
Business name or signage A storefront, showroom, or sign with the Business Profile name clearly printed on a permanent fixture The same permanent-fixture and matching-name evidence as a storefront There is no storefront-signage branch. Show the tools, equipment, or products used for the work instead. Add the missing physical proof for the correct business type.
Equipment or proof the business exists The storefront, showroom, or business signage The storefront, showroom, or business signage Professional tools, equipment, products, specialized machinery, workspace, business cards, or branded apparel Show the missing proof that the business exists.
Authorization or management Something only an employee can access, such as a cash register, kitchen, storage room, or point-of-sale system The same employee-only access evidence as a storefront Perform a service, access a business-only asset such as a branded van, or show a permit, invoice, or utility bill matching the Business Profile name Add management or matching-document evidence for the business type.

The matrix is a diagnostic sequence, not a ranking of causes. Google does not publish a failure-rate table for these video issues.1

What should a storefront business record?

A storefront video needs a recognizable location, permanent matching business-name signage, and proof that an employee manages the business.

A storefront serves customers in person during business hours at a physical location with permanent on-site signage. Show the surrounding location first, then the storefront, showroom, or sign with the name matching the Business Profile, then an employee-only area or system that demonstrates management.1

If the business has no permanent on-site signage, Google says to list it as a service-area business instead of a storefront. Do not invent a sign for the replacement recording. Use the service-area branch below and make sure the profile's business model matches what customers actually do.1

What should a hybrid business record?

A hybrid video uses the storefront evidence branch even though the business also visits or delivers to customers.

Google defines a hybrid business as one that serves customers at its business address and also directly visits or delivers to customers. Because customers come to the address, the recording still needs the storefront branch: location markers, permanent matching signage, and employee-only proof of management. Delivery or service work does not replace the signage requirement.13

What should a service-area business record?

A service-area video needs an identifiable business location, the tools or products used for work, and proof of management or authorization, not storefront signage.

A service-area business goes to customers or offers services but does not serve them at its business address. Show street signs, nearby landmarks, or other identifiers at the business address. Then show professional tools, equipment, products, a workspace, business cards, or branded apparel. Finish with management evidence such as performing a service, unlocking a branded van, or showing a permit, invoice, or utility bill that matches the Business Profile name.13

If the business operates from home, Google says the recording can show signs and landmarks in the immediate neighborhood. Avoid empty land or a location without clear markers. If customers do not come to the business address, Google says not to add that address to the Business Profile.3

What recording rules apply to every replacement video?

The replacement must be one continuous, live, unedited recording made and uploaded from a mobile device through the Business Profile.

Before you record, plan the route through the evidence. Google says the video must be unique and complete, have no breaks, and last at least 30 seconds. A pre-recorded video or a video recorded offline for later upload is not allowed. The recording must also avoid bank-account, tax, or ID numbers, private information about people, and other people's faces.1

Use this sequence:

  1. Open the Business Profile on the mobile device and select Review issues when it is shown.
  2. Write down every issue shown, then keep the evidence from the first video that was not identified as missing.
  3. Plan one continuous route that shows the location, business evidence, and management or authorization evidence required for the correct business type.
  4. Record the replacement live on the mobile device. Do not edit it, pause it, or upload an offline file.
  5. Check the recording for sensitive or private information before uploading it.
  6. Upload it through the Business Profile and wait for the review result.

How long should I wait after uploading the replacement?

Google says video review can take up to 5 business days, and that window does not promise approval.

After review, Google says the result can be successful or not successful. If the result is not successful, follow the new issues shown in the Business Profile, preserve the original evidence, and add the newly identified missing evidence. Google does not publish a success rate, failure rate, or numeric retry limit for this process.1

What if the next recording still does not work?

Use the exact status and issue list shown in the Business Profile, then follow the verification method Google currently offers instead of creating evidence for a different business model.

If the profile returns to Review issues, use the listed issue to choose the next evidence group. If it returns to Get verified, the profile is in the broader re-verification flow. If no verification method appears, use the Google Business Profile no-verification-method breakdown to separate an unavailable method from a rejected video. The video verification glossary entry defines the method and its evidence requirements.

Common questions

No. Review issues after a video upload means Google did not accept that video and wants you to review the listed problems. It is different from a profile restriction or suspension notice. Check the exact label before choosing an appeal or reinstatement path.
