Google Business Profile video verification
Google Business Profile video verification is a Google verification method in which a business records and uploads a live video to show its location or operating area, business existence, and that the person submitting it manages or represents the business.
Google offers Business video to physical storefronts, service-area businesses, and hybrid businesses. The setup determines the evidence the video should carry. Google requires live, unedited, unique, complete footage without breaks, with a minimum duration of 30 seconds. Capture it on a mobile device and submit it from the Business Profile. Exclude financial, tax, and identification numbers, personal details, and faces belonging to other people.1
| Business setup | What the video establishes | Boundary to remember |
|---|---|---|
| Storefront | The location through nearby signs or landmarks, the business through a storefront, showroom, or permanent sign matching the profile name, and management through employee-only access such as a register or point-of-sale system. | Without permanent on-site signage, Google says to use a service-area setup instead of a storefront. |
| Hybrid | The same location, business, and management evidence as a storefront. | The business also serves customers at its location and visits or delivers to them. |
| Service-area | Where the business operates through identifiable markers, the business through tools or products, and management through a service, business-only asset, or matching document. | If the business does not serve customers at its business location, Google says not to add its business address to the Business Profile.1 |
Business video is a recording submitted for review, not a live video call with a Google support representative. Google may offer a live video call separately, during open hours for the location, but does not promise this option to every profile. Google automatically determines the available methods and owners cannot change them manually.2 The verification answer covers the full start-to-finish process.
Google says a Business video review can take up to five business days. If the result is not successful, open Review issues, keep the information shown in the first recording, add the missing information, make another recording, and submit that file. The video guide does not state a numeric maximum for these retries. If the file fails to upload on the first attempt, Google says to submit it again.1
The term covers the verification recording and the evidence it carries. It does not mean that Google will offer video to every profile, and it does not include other verification methods such as phone, email, mail, or instant verification.2 The Google Business Profile hub, the service-area setup guide, and the related service-area business and hybrid profile entries cover those neighboring subjects.
