Google Business Profile workflow time windows

By Sergey Sulimko, Founder5 min read

Google publishes four separate Business Profile windows: 3 days for a current owner's response to an ownership request, usually up to 10 minutes and sometimes 30 days for edits to a verified profile, up to 5 business days for eligible appeal reviews, and 7 days before a new owner or manager can manage some profile features.1234

All four figures come from Google's US-English Business Profile Help pages, read on October 14, 2026. Google does not present them as survey measurements, and the pages do not state publication dates. They are published workflow rules and access limits, so the object and qualifier beside each number matter.

What timing windows does Google publish for Business Profile workflows?

Workflow Published window What the window covers Scope and limit Source and reading date
Ownership request 3 days The current profile owner's period to respond after Google sends an ownership-request notification by email If there is no response, the requester may have an option to claim the profile. Google does not say that option appears in every case. Google Business Profile Help, Request ownership of a Business Profile1; page date not stated, read October 14, 2026
Edit on a verified profile Usually up to 10 minutes; sometimes up to 30 days Google's review of an edit saved to a verified Business Profile, including a Pending edit Google states this timing for verified profiles. It separately says an unverified profile can still allow some information changes. Google Business Profile Help, Understand what happens to your Business Profile edits2; page date not stated, read October 14, 2026
Eligible appeal Up to 5 business days Google's review and decision for an eligible Business Profile appeal Google tells users not to submit multiple appeals for the same issue before receiving a decision. The route depends on the restriction and the business's geography. Google Business Profile Help, Appeal Business Profile content & profile restrictions3; page date not stated, read October 14, 2026
New owner or manager access 7 days The waiting period before a newly added owner or manager can manage some profile features This is a feature-specific limit, not a ban on all profile access. Google lists deleting or undeleting the profile, removing other owners or managers, and transferring primary ownership. Google Business Profile Help, Manage your Business Profile owners & managers4; page date not stated, read October 14, 2026

How long does a Google Business Profile ownership request take?

The current owner has 3 days to respond after Google sends an ownership-request notification. If the owner does not respond, Google says the requester may have the option to claim the profile, not that a claim option will always appear.1 The self-serve request path covers storefront and hybrid businesses. Google directs a service-area business with no physical shop or office to contact support instead. The guide to getting access to a Google Business Profile covers the surrounding account and role checks. After access is granted, signing in to your Google Business Profile is a separate step.

How long does Google review a Business Profile edit?

Google says edits to a verified Business Profile usually take up to 10 minutes to review, but sometimes take up to 30 days.2 Google gives the same timing language for a Pending edit. The page also lists Accepted, Not approved, and Pending as possible edit states. Google separately says that an unverified profile can still allow some information changes.2 Use the guide to rejected or pending Google Business Profile edits when the displayed status determines the next step.

How long does a Google Business Profile appeal take?

Google says eligible Business Profile appeal reviews and decisions can take up to 5 business days.3 The appeal route depends on the issue. For businesses outside the UK and European Economic Area, including the United States, Google's help page describes the appeals tool for suspended or disabled profiles. Rejected business-information edits, restricted media, and other content restrictions must use the Contact us route instead.3 For a separate problem, see the guide to soft Google Business Profile suspensions.

What can a new Business Profile owner or manager do during the first 7 days?

The first 7 days block specific ownership actions, not all profile access. Google says a newly appointed owner or manager gets an error when trying to delete or undelete the profile, remove other owners or managers, or transfer primary ownership.4 Google also says that deleting the new user's account during this period removes that user from the profile, so the user must be added again if access is needed.

What do these Google timing windows not tell you?

These numbers are not one generic Google review time.1234 The 3-day period belongs to the current owner's response to an ownership request.1 The 10-minute and 30-day figures describe Google's review of edits to verified profiles.2 The 5-business-day figure applies to eligible appeal reviews and decisions.3 The 7-day figure limits specific actions for newly added owners and managers.4

The windows also do not promise an outcome. No response after an ownership request may expose a claim option.1 A verified-profile edit may remain Pending or become Not approved.2 An appeal may take up to the stated period, and the user should not submit duplicate appeals while waiting.3 A new owner or manager can have profile access while the listed ownership actions remain blocked.4

The Google help pages used here do not state publication dates or report a study sample. Google published these rules for the workflows described, so keep the source title, read date, profile state, and action beside any number you reuse.
