Google Business Profile
Can I use more than one website URL on a Google Business Profile?
Short answer
Yes. Google documents the main Website field for the business's website and separate local business link controls when the business and the relevant action are eligible in its country or region. A second destination can go in an available menu, services, appointment, reservation, food-order, or shopping-order link control. For action links, Google requires a dedicated landing page that lets customers complete the designated action. Google's help pages state different limits for local business links, so there is no single reconciled maximum to apply universally.

Which Google control should hold each additional URL?
Google's Edit your Business Profile guidance separates the ordinary Website field from additional links that some business categories can add for orders, reservations, or appointments.1 Route each destination to the control that matches what a customer will do there.
| Destination | Google control | Documented condition |
|---|---|---|
| The business's main website | Website | Enter the full URL with its protocol prefix. Google says Googlebot should not be blocked. |
| A menu or list of services | A menu or services link | Google documents one link for a menu or list of services. Menu and services editing has limited availability, and Google says the menu editor is for food and drink businesses. |
| Appointments, reservations, food orders, or shopping orders | The matching local business link category | Availability depends on the business, action, country, and region. The destination must support the named action. |
The menu or services route is an additional link type, separate from the main Website field. For the distinction between a menu link, structured menu items, services, and products, see how to publish products and services on a Google Business Profile. For booking-specific choices, see how to set up online booking on a Google Business Profile.
How do I add a second appointment, reservation, or order URL?
Use Google's local business link controls, not the ordinary Website field. Google's Manage your local business links instructions give this path:2
- Open the Business Profile.
- In Google Search, select Booking, Food ordering, or Pickup and delivery. In Google Maps, select Edit profile, then select the transaction type.
- Select Add link. If a link already exists, select Add another link.
- Enter the URL for the button.
- Select Save.
Choose the transaction type that matches the action on the destination. A booking URL belongs under Booking, while a food-order URL belongs under Food ordering or the relevant ordering control Google shows for the profile. For background on Reserve with Google, see what is Reserve with Google.
Can I choose which action link appears first?
Yes. When more than one link exists for a transaction type, Google's local business link instructions let you select Set preferred link, choose a link, and select Save. Google labels the selected link Business preferred at the top of the links for that transaction type.2
Choosing a preferred action link does not change the ordinary Website field. It controls the ordering of links within the selected local business link type.
What limits does Google publish for additional links?
For local business links, Google's current public pages use different labels and numbers for action-link limits. Manage your local business links says a profile can have “up to 10 links per category,” while Business links policies & guidelines says businesses can have “a maximum of 20 links per transaction type.”23
| Google page | Wording on the page | How to read it |
|---|---|---|
| Manage your local business links | Up to 10 links per category | This is the limit wording on Google's management instructions. |
| Business links policies & guidelines | A maximum of 20 links per transaction type | This is the limit wording on Google's policy page. |
Google does not reconcile “category” and “transaction type” on the two pages. Do not present either number as a universal maximum for all local business links. Check the transaction type in the profile and follow the limit the interface permits. The policy page says that when a transaction type has reached its stated ceiling, an existing link must be removed before another can be added.3
Who is eligible to add a local business link?
Not every business or region is eligible for every local business link. Google gives hair salons as an example of a business that might be eligible for appointments but not online ordering, and it warns that some countries and regions are not eligible for certain link types.3
The Business Profile must be verified before a business can add a local business link. After Google approves the link edit, Google says the change is published on Google Search and Maps.3
What should the second URL point to?
The action URL should open a dedicated landing page for the business and let customers complete the designated action. For a business with multiple locations, the page should be for the specific location, not a general page or another location.3
Google's policy does not allow local business links to point to social media sites, messaging links, app stores, or link shorteners. For local business links, Google also says only one link per domain can be added. Two different paths on the same domain can therefore be rejected even when the URLs are not identical.3

Before saving an action link, check the destination as a customer. The page should load successfully, complete the named action, and remain accessible to Google's link-checking systems. Google says it may remove links that do not comply with its policies or cannot be crawled, and checks can occur at most daily.3
Can I add local business links through the Business Profile API?
No. Google's local business link instructions say these links are not available through the Business Profile API or spreadsheet upload. Add and manage them through the Business Profile editing controls instead.2
