Can I delete a customer photo from my Google Business Profile?
No. Google does not give a business a direct Delete action for a photo a customer uploaded. Google directs the business to report a customer photo or video when it violates Google's policies. Google reviews the report, may remove the item, and says the review can take several business days. A photo the business uploaded follows a separate Delete path on a computer.
What should I do if a customer photo violates Google's policies?
Report the customer photo or video from the Business Profile and choose the reason that matches the problem. Google lists examples such as Privacy concern, Not a photo or video of the place, Spam, and Personal information. The report requests removal; it does not remove the customer photo immediately. Google's Manage your Business Profile photos and videos guidance separates customer media from the direct Delete path for media the business added.
How do I report a customer photo from Google Search?
Google's Report inappropriate photos or videos on your Business Profile instructions give this computer path:
- Go to your Business Profile.
- Select Photos, then View all photos.
- Select the customer photo or video.
- Select Report a problem at the bottom right.
- Select the reason to flag the content, such as Privacy concern or Not a photo or video of the place.
- Select Submit.
The computer path is a request for Google's review of the customer-uploaded item. Use a policy-based reason that describes the content, rather than treating the report as a way to hide a photo simply because the business dislikes it.
Do not submit multiple removal requests for the same item. Google says that might delay the review.
How do I report a customer photo in the Google Maps app?
Google's mobile instructions use the Google Maps app. Open the app and follow these steps:
- At the bottom right, tap Business.
- Tap See Business Profile, then Photos.
- Select the customer photo or video.
- At the top right, tap More, then Report.
- Select the reason to flag the content, such as Spam or Personal information.
- Tap Submit.
Google says the customer photo or video is reviewed after submission. The Google Maps app route is separate from deleting a photo that the business itself uploaded.
How do I report a customer photo update?
Google says photo updates from customers can be reported only in the Google Maps app. In the app, tap Business, tap See Business Profile, tap Updates, then By visitors. Find the photo update, tap More, tap Report, choose the violation type, and tap Submit.
Google's About photo updates from customers guidance says businesses cannot stop customers from posting photo updates. If a specific photo in an update is visible in the Photos tab, Google also provides the photo-reporting path there.
What happens after I report a customer photo?
Google reviews a customer-uploaded photo or video when a business requests removal for a policy violation. Google says the item may possibly be removed from the Business Profile, and the review process can take several business days. A submitted report is therefore a request for review, not a confirmation that Google will remove the photo.
Google's guidance describes the available action as reporting inappropriate customer content. It does not describe a business-side control that directly deletes another person's upload.
How do I delete a photo my business uploaded?
Google documents a direct Delete path for a photo or video the business added to its own Business Profile. On a computer:
- Open Google Search or Google Maps.
- Search for the business name and city.
- Select Photos.
- Scroll and select the photo or video the business uploaded.
- Select Delete.
- Select Delete again to confirm.
This owner-uploaded-media path is different from the customer-photo reporting path. For the wider workflow, see how photos and posts work on a Google Business Profile and the Google Business Profile hub.
