Which Google Business Profile attributes should a hotel verify for guests?
A hotel should verify its guest-facing amenities, accessibility conditions, check-in and check-out times, hotel highlights, and amenity-related fees against the current property before guests rely on them.
The Google Business Profile hub covers the profile as a whole. The general rules for which Google Business Profile attributes an owner can control cover the shared editor limits. Hotels need a property walk-through that joins the profile's guest details to what visitors can actually use.
Which hotel attributes should a property verify before guests book?
A hotel attribute review should compare the displayed amenity, access condition, or guest time with the hotel's current operation, not just with the value saved in the editor.
| Hotel detail | What to verify | Hotel-specific reason |
|---|---|---|
| Amenities | Check Wi-Fi, pool, parking, pet access, and every other amenity shown for the property. | Google may collect hotel amenity information from several sources, so an outdated value can shape a guest's choice even when the hotel did not enter it recently.1,2 |
| Hotel highlights | Confirm the facts behind labels such as Pet Friendly, Free Wi-Fi, and Free Parking. | Google says highlights are not guaranteed for every hotel. An absent highlight is not proof that the hotel lacks the service.1 |
| Accessibility | Walk the entrance, restrooms, seating, parking, elevators, and hearing-assistance equipment that guests use. | Accessibility values describe physical conditions and equipment. A hotel should select Yes only where the property meets Google's stated condition.3 |
| Check-in and check-out | Match the profile times to when rooms are ready and when guests must leave. | Google lets hotels add these times and may also receive updates from trusted sources, including user reports and licensed content.4 |
| Business hours | Do not treat ordinary storefront hours as the hotel's guest-access signal. | Google says hotels cannot edit business hours because hotels are open 24 hours to their guests.1 |
| Category and hotel features | Keep the hotel category focused on the lodging business. Put amenities in hotel details or attributes. | Google says hotel categories can show class ratings and list amenities, while category guidance says not to use categories merely to describe an attribute.5 |
| Independent in-hotel businesses | Check whether a restaurant, lounge, store, or spa can be visited without staying at the hotel. | Independent access can make that business eligible for its own profile instead of leaving its identity inside the hotel's amenity list.1 |
| Fees and inclusions | Reconcile the amenity list with the room price, resort or amenity fees, and taxes shown before booking. | AHLA's hotel industry position calls for room cost, fees, and taxes to be broken out separately before a guest books. That is a trade expectation, not a Google profile rule.6 |
Where does a verified hotel edit guest-facing details?
A claimed and verified hotel edits hotel services and amenities from Business Profile > Hotel Details, while hotel attributes cannot be updated through spreadsheet upload.
Use the hotel-specific path on a computer:1,4
- Open the hotel's verified Business Profile.
- Select Hotel Details.
- Search for the attribute and enter the current information.
- Select Save.1
Use the general attribute editor when Google exposes a field there. Google's available fields can vary by location, country, and business category, and Google may populate some values from customer input.3 Keep the hotel category decision separate from amenity verification so a feature does not become a substitute for the hotel's business category.
How should a hotel verify accessibility attributes?
A hotel should mark an accessibility attribute Yes only when the physical guest path meets the condition that Google describes for that field.
Check the property against these boundaries:
- An accessible entrance is at least 3 feet (1 meter) wide, has no steps, or has a permanent or movable ramp. A revolving-only entrance does not qualify.
- An accessible restroom has an entrance at least 1 meter wide with no steps. If a stall is needed, its entrance is also 1 meter wide.
- Accessible seating has no steps and enough room for a guest to reach and sit at a table. A high, standing-level table does not qualify.
- Accessible parking means a reserved accessible parking space is available.
- An accessible elevator serves multiple floors and is large enough for a wheelchair.
- Hearing assistance can mean borrowable assisted-listening devices, a permanently installed hearing loop, or a permanently installed Auracast broadcaster. Google says customers should expect their own Auracast-compatible devices for the last option.3
When should an in-hotel restaurant or spa have its own profile?
An in-hotel restaurant, lounge, store, or spa can have its own Business Profile when customers can visit it without being hotel guests.
Verify independent access at the property before creating or maintaining a second listing. A restaurant that only serves registered guests is a different case from a restaurant that welcomes the public through its own entrance or access path.1
How should a hotel reconcile amenity disclosure with resort fees?
Before a reservation is made, a hotel should keep its amenity list, room cost, fees, and taxes consistent across the places where guests compare and book.
AHLA says that guests should receive the necessary information before booking and that room cost, fees, and taxes should be broken out separately. Use that hotel-industry position as an operations check alongside Google's profile fields, not as evidence that Google requires a particular fee display.6 A monthly Google Business Profile routine can hold the recurring comparison after the first property review.
