Google chooses which verification methods are available for a profile. The options can depend on the business, public information, region, or business hours, and Google may require more than one method. A profile does not always receive a code because Google can offer a live video call, automatic verification, or another method instead. For mail verification, Google says most codes arrive within 14 days and verification codes expire after 30 days. Google also says not to change the business name, address, or category while waiting, because those edits can make the mailed code unusable. Requesting a new code invalidates the code already in the mail. Keep the verification code secure. Google says it will never ask for the code and says not to share it with anyone, including people who manage the Business Profile.1 A Google Business Profile store code serves a different purpose: Google describes it as a way to organize multiple Business Profiles and use them in a bulk-upload spreadsheet, not as the verification code used to complete verification.3
