Glossary
More hours
More hours are service-specific schedules on a Google Business Profile, such as delivery, takeout, drive through, pickup, or senior hours.
Main hours describe the business's normal weekly schedule. More hours add the recurring times when one service is available. Google says regular hours must be set first because More hours do not display until then.12
Use this decision rule:
| The time describes... | Use... |
|---|---|
| The business's normal weekly opening schedule | Main hours |
| A recurring window for one service, such as delivery or takeout | More hours |
| A brief change to the business's overall schedule | Special hours |
Google's example shows a restaurant with Business hours from 6 AM–9 PM, Happy hours from 5 PM–8 PM, and Take out from 10 AM–6 PM. The example illustrates Google's guidance that More hours should generally sit within the primary hours. If a profile has several More-hours types, each type is set separately.1
More hours do not replace the normal schedule or cover a holiday closure affecting the whole business. Google directs businesses to Special hours for brief overall changes, and to Temporarily closed for a closure lasting 7 or more consecutive days or an unknown period.3 The Google Business Profile editing guide covers the wider change path, while the monthly profile routine includes a recurring hours check.
Google documents More hours as a Business Profile field under Edit profile → Hours → Add more hours. The field describes when a particular service is available, not a second set of main hours.1
