Google Business Profile owner

A Google Business Profile owner is a user with full control over a Business Profile; a profile can have multiple owners, but only one can be the primary owner.¹

Owners can add or remove users and change access roles for other owners and managers. A manager has mostly the same day-to-day access, but cannot add or remove other users or remove the profile; a manager can remove themself.^1,2

Primary owner is the single ownership status that controls transfer of primary ownership. Only the current primary owner can transfer it to an existing owner or manager. Newly added owners and managers must wait 7 days before managing all profile features. During that period, Google says they may get an error when deleting or undeleting a profile, removing other owners or managers, or making someone the primary owner. If the new user leaves the business within those 7 days, Google removes that user from the profile and they must be added again.²

The Owner role does not mean the same thing as removing profile content. Only the primary owner can remove a profile's content and managers. That action is permanent and does not guarantee that the business will disappear from Google Search or Maps.³
