Google Business Profile account-level restriction
Definition
A Google Business Profile account-level restriction, Google’s “Account level restriction,” restricts a Google Account’s Business Profile access; a policy-violation pattern may trigger it, suspending all associated profiles, rejecting content added from that account, and blocking it from creating or claiming profiles.1,2

The restriction applies to the Google Account and its associated Business Profiles, not to one listing in isolation. For example, if one account manages several profiles and all of them become suspended while that account cannot create or claim another profile, the situation fits Google’s account-restriction branch. Google puts the account appeal first on My accounts; after the account restriction is lifted, an affected Business Profile has its own appeal step. The restricted Google Account recovery guide covers that sequence.2
An account-level restriction is not the same as a suspension of one Business Profile. Google may suspend or disable an individual profile for guideline violations; that is the profile-suspension branch, while an account restriction suspends the Business Profiles managed by the account. The hard suspension and soft suspension entries describe neighboring practitioner terms, not synonyms for this account-level state.2
An account restriction on another Google product is a separate documented branch. Google says that when a Business Profile was created through an account associated with another Google product, restricting that non-Business Profile account may result in suspension of the Business Profile; content from that account may be rejected, and the non-Business Profile account must be reinstated before the profile can be reinstated.1 Google also documents profile-level review and rating restrictions for Fake Engagement policy violations.3 Neither branch defines an account-level restriction on Business Profile activity.
Google Business Profile Help owns the label. Its policy overview uses “Account level restrictions,” while its suspension guidance uses “account restriction”; this entry uses the hyphenated singular form for that same Google Business Profile account branch.1,2
