Definition
In SOCi's 2026 Local Visibility Index, Performance score is SOCi's label for actual performance measured through rankings, ratings and engagement.

SOCi places Performance score beside Optimization score, which it describes as adherence to local marketing best practices. In the same chart, dot size represents AI visibility score. The report covers brands with 50 or more store, office or provider locations and evaluates more than 120 metrics per location across Google Maps, Gemini, Yelp, Facebook, ChatGPT and Perplexity, grouped into Search, Social, Reputation and AI.1
SOCi's page does not state a formula, denominator, scale or calculation for Performance score. The label therefore does not define a universal score that can be recreated from Google Business Profile data. It is a label used by SOCi in its 2026 report.1
These labels answer different questions:

Share of Local Voice has arithmetic that SOCi does not publish for Performance score. If a scan records 8 top-three appearances across 25 checks, 8 ÷ 25 × 100 = 32%. That 32% is the scan's Share of Local Voice, not SOCi's Performance score.4
Keep the inputs with any number you compare. For SOCi, record the 2026 report and its stated coverage and measurement frame. For Google Business Profile Performance, record the verified profile and selected date range. For Share of Local Voice, record the keywords, geographic area, grid, and top-three rule used by the scan.1,4,2
